Fox said he was comfortable with the idea of there being a transitional period post Brexit, but added that there needed to be a time limit to it.
He also explained that the United Kingdom should be able to continue with its business, without there being a period of stagnation.
Brexit Secretary David Davis is in Brussels this week, where the finer deals of the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union will be discussed. No doubt, that post-Brexit period will also be addressed, to some degree or the other.
“I don’t have a problem with the transition period as long as is time-limited,” Fox told the BBC this week.
“I want in a transitional period to be able to negotiate agreements at that point, what we can’t have is a putting off of the point where we have freedom to negotiate our trade agreements,” added Fox.
