THE New Zealand Society has announced its annual UK New Zealander of the Year nominees.
Regarded as one of the most prestigious honours within the New Zealand community in the United Kingdom, the award recognises and celebrates the person who has made the most outstanding personal contribution in the UK to promoting the interests of New Zealand or New Zealanders, whether in public life, by charitable work, or achievement in the arts, sport or academia.
The three nominees are Katherine Corich, Matt Hickey and Bronwen Horton.
The 2012 award went to Kent Gardner for his fundraising efforts to help people affected by the Canterbury earthquakes.
The winner will be announced at the New Zealand Society Waitangi Day Charity Ball at The Dorchester on Friday February 8.
The winner will received return flights for two back to New Zealand from Air New Zealand.
