With 2015 another big year for Try Tag Rugby, smashing all previous participation records, with 46% growth on 2014, this year is shaping up to be even bigger and better.

13/02/16 – The Try Tag Rugby Valentine’s Day Challenge @ Coram’s Fields
The Valentine’s Day Challenge returns after its success last year. This tournament is a great opportunity to meet sporty, like-minded singles whilst having a fun day of tagging.
Based at Coram’s Fields excellent Central London facilities, and heading to a nearby pub after for complimentary bubbly and nibbles, if you’re single you have no excuse for staying in this Valentine’s Day!

02/04/16 – 5th Annual Wasps Tag Rugby Festival
The ever-popular Wasps Tag Rugby Festival is back in 2016 and held at Twyford Avenue Sports Ground in Acton. This annual event is Try Tag Rugby’s first teams one day tournament of the year and gives mixed teams a chance to have a hit out before the summer seasons kick off.
The tournament has a capacity for 50 teams and is likely to sell out, so don’t delay your registration to avoid missing out. For details, click here.

15/04/16 – The Corporate Challenge in aid of the Tag Rugby Trust
The Corporate Challenge is a great opportunity for corporate Tag Rugby teams to come together for a fantastic day of sport, networking and team building, with all profits donated to this fantastic charity, the Tag Rugby Trust.
Previous Try Tag Rugby Corporate Challenges have featured the likes of Google, Yahoo!, Monster, Linklaters & PCubed battle it out with smaller up and coming companies and public sector bodies.
The Tag Rugby Trust introduces boys and girls to Tag Rugby in eight developing countries, involving young leaders and teachers in the process; creating a sustainable rugby community. Get your work mates together now. For details, click here.

14/05/16 – Try Tag Rugby Provincial Challenge (venue TBC)
04/06/16 – Summer Social Tag Rugby Festival
Half music festival, half sports tournament, Summer Social is perfect for Tag Rugby players who love the summer festival scene. It features five sports (Tag Rugby, Rugby 7’s, Netball, Lacrosse and Dodgeball), 15 DJs and 8,000 people.
Held at Richmond Athletic Ground and Old Deer Park in south-west London, the professionally run Try Tag Rugby tournament caters for teams from a sociable to competitive level, across both mixed and men’s divisions competing for cup, plate, shield and bowl silverware.
The tournament will most likely have a capacity for 50 teams (TBC) and is likely to sell out, so don’t delay your registration to avoid missing out. Details coming soon.
From 21/06/16 – Summer Leagues Kick-Off
16/07/16 – London Tag Rugby Championships (venue TBC)
This tournament is the UK’s largest Tag Rugby tournament, with 55-60 teams, many in fancy dress, expected to take part.
Last year, there were players dressed as the cast of Futurama, Orange is the New Black and many other TV shows to make this the biggest and most fun Try Tag Rugby one day tournament so far. The day saw 47 mixed and men’s teams compete, a new record for the UK.
As usual, the Try Tag Rugby marquee will be rocking until late with players enjoying a drink or five on the long summer evening! Details coming soon.

02/09/2016 – Try Tag Rugby 7th Birthday Thames River Cruise
17/09/2016 – UK National Titles & London Origin Series
Based on Oztag’s Nationals and Ireland’s Regionals, plans are in the offing for Try Tag Rugby to run their first ever national titles. Representative teams from North, South and West London will take on representative teams from Yorkshire and the Thames Valley, with further regions added over the coming years as Try Tag Rugby expands nationwide.
This new representative structure will work as a pathway towards selection for the Great Britain teams, improving the quality of Tag being played nationwide and opening up more opportunities for elite players from outside of London to gain selection for Great Britain.
For the less competitive players, the annual London Origin tournament will take place in parallel. Full details including dates and locations of each area’s selection process, coming shortly.

NOTE: Dates for the 2016 North London Tag Rugby Festival and the international series against Ireland are still to be confirmed.

Spring League Registration
Try Tag Rugby’s Spring leagues are now open for registration with leagues kicking off from 22nd February onward.
The full Spring schedule is as follows:
MONDAY: Acton (mixed), Battersea Park (mixed), Borough (mixed), Tooting Bec (mixed), Shoreditch (mixed), Reading (mixed)
TUESDAY: Hyde Park (mixed), Olympic Park (mixed), Shoreditch (mixed & men’s)
WEDNESDAY: Acton (mixed), East London (mixed), Shoreditch (mixed), Rotherhithe/East London RFC (men’s & mixed)
THURSDAY: Barnes (mixed), Clapham (mixed), North London (East Finchley) – mixed
FRIDAY: Kennington (mixed)
SATURDAY: Balham (mixed), Finsbury Park (mixed)
If you would like to get involved in a Try Tag Rugby Spring league, you have the option to register a team, part team or as an individual. Leagues cater to all standards, from the complete beginner to the advanced player.
The Spring league places are filling up very fast. If you would like to play during the Spring season, make sure to register ASAP to avoid missing out!
