The 51-year-old Jacobs won the Republican Primary by just 17 votes, after 100 percent of local precincts reported. The professional wrestler thanked all his constituents for supporting him in this race.
“Thanks to everyone who helped win this historic victory!!” read a Jacobs tweet on Wednesday.
“The people who cast a ballot for me, my great team, my wonderful volunteers. Looking forward to VICTORY in the general election!” added Jacobs.
Jacobs said he was committed to keeping taxes low, improving the quality of education, attracting new jobs, improving infrastructure and promoting full transparency in government.
He said he wanted Knox County to be a safer community, with limited government.
