FORMER All Black Sonny Bill Williams has been promoted to the Sydney Roosters’ starting lineup for their round two NRL clash with the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday.
The cross-code star, who made his first NRL appearance off the bench last week since abandoning the sport in 2008, moves into the second row in place of Mitchell Aubusson.
The match is being held at Eden Park, where Williams last played for the All Blacks in the 22-0 whitewash of the Wallabies in August.
The Roosters went down 28-10 to rivals South Sydney, while the Warriors where hammered 40-10 by the Parramatta Eels in their first outing.
The match also sees former Warriors stand-off James Maloney face his old club for the first time.
