New Zealand batting great Martin Crowe passed away this week after a long battle with cancer, and the great and good of the game reacted in their droves on social media.
Such was the influence of the Black Cap’s greatest batsman, according to many, that tributes poured in, not only from Kiwi players but from a huge variety of his former opponents, current players the world over, and his colleagues in the media.
This long list is just a selection, showing the impact Crowe had as a player, a mentor, and a friend. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Today we lost a legend of our game. Not only was he a great sportsman but more importantly a great human. I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor and friend to help me through the last couple of years. You inspired me to become a better person on and off the field. I will miss you. #RIPHogan #FootworkGup A photo posted by Martin Guptill (@martyguptill31) on
