London is host to six O2Touch leagues, which include Regents Park, Clapham Common, Clapham/Wandsworth Common, Putney Wandsworth, Richmond and Surrey Quays. Mixed, men’s and even ladies team take part in a competitive league, but all the while with a social side. Each team plays in the eight-week league, with a minimum of one game per week and an optional, but encouraged, trip to the local pub to relax and enjoy the summer throughout the week, not just the weekend. It is proof that Touch is a sport for everyone, whether you are a complete beginner to touch, a union or league player looking to keep fit in the off season or a group of colleagues who want to get out and get rid of the daily pressures of the office.
Once signed up and paid the team registration fees, all you need to do is pitch up on game night and play. Everything is organised from the marked fields, referee for each game and a venue manager, who is on hand to provide a few tips and tricks on touch and answer any questions you may have. All new teams entering into the summer league also get a free set of 12 reversible O2Touch team shirts and a free O2Touch team ball to practice and warm up with. At the end of your game all teams are given a voucher that entitles them to a little food at the local pub to go with a pint or two.
