THE Maori All Blacks have lost the first match of their UK tour, going down 32-24 to English club side the Leicester Tigers.
The loss was the side’s first since 2007, when they also lost to an English side, the Saxons.
A lack of discipline cost the Maori, with Tigers No 10 George Ford kicking six penalties, despite scoring only two tries to the visitors’ three.
Andre Taylor and Jarrad Hoeta were sin-binned, while Frae Wilson, Tim Bateman and Charlie Ngatai crossed the white line for the Maori.
Willie Ripia converted all three tries and kicked one penalty.
They play an English Premiership XV at the weekend, followed by Canada a week later.
