A CHRISTCHURCH man has been arrested for posting online video footage of the two men accused of bashing cricket star Jesse Ryder.
Ryder was attacked twice outside a Christchurch bar last month, suffering severe head and lung injuries.
He has since been released from hospital and returned home to Wellington, but his immediate playing future is in doubt.
Two men have been arrested in relation to the attack, but after initially being named in the media, were granted name suppression.
Police allege the man posted video footage that he captured on a cellphone.
He has been charged with one count of breaching a suppression order, and will appear in court later this month.
Detective Sergeant Ash Millen said the arrest should serve as a deterrent to people who may have downloaded, accessed or distributed the video in question, or were considering doing so.
