ATHLETICS NEW ZEALAND has named four athletes in its initial squad for the world track and field championships in Moscow in August.
Valerie Adams, a double Olympic shotput champion and Beijing silver medallist Nick Willis are the stars of the team.
They will be joined by marathon runner Mary Davies and race walker Quentin Rew, who will compete in the 50km event.
ANZ only selects athletes who have met the A-qualifying standard and are considered prospects of finishing in the top 16.
More athletes are expected to be named on May 28.
