LEGENDARY actor and body-builder Arnold Schwarzenegger says the sequel to his 1982 hit film Conan the Barbarian could be filmed in Wellington.
The Austrian-born former governor of California told the website Ain’t It Cool that Universal Studios was looking “very closely” at using Sir Peter Jackson’s Park Road studios for the sequel.
“It could very well be that one of the places they’re looking very closely right now is Jackson’s studio in New Zealand,” he said.
Schwarzenegger has been pushing for over a decade to have a new Conan movie filmed.
To be called The Legend of Conan, is is reportedly set for release next year.
The script was currently being written, with filming to begin by the end of the year.
Schwarzenegger, naturally, would play the title role.
