What to do on Anzac Day in London 2013, Thursday 25 April.


Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving to mark Anzac Day on Sunday 25th April 2010.


Service at the Memorial at Hyde Park Corner

This service is open to the public, is a non-ticket event and lasts approximately 45 minutes. Suggested arrival time is 4.40am. The ceremony will be followed by a wreath-laying at the New Zealand War Memorial.

5.30am – 7.30am

Anzac Day breakfast at Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane

Opposite the memorial, the Intercontinental Hotel at Park Lane is hosting an Anzac Day breakfast at The Cookbook Cafe. A full English breakfast will be available for £15. Bookings are not required.


Wreath-laying ceremony and parade at the Cenotaph in Whitehall

On the first chime of Big Ben, Australian High Commissioner Mike Rann and New Zealand High Commissioner Lockwood Smith will lay wreaths together. They will be followed by representatives of the British Government, the armed forces and other countries whose armed forces fought in the Gallipoli campaign, along with various service and ex-service organisations. The service will last approximately 30 minutes.


Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey

Service will last approximately one hour. Attendees must obtain complimentary tickets in advance. Tickets are available by application from the New Zealand High Commission and Australian High Commission. See
