This indoor sport, which combines elements from netball, basketball, Rugby Union, League and Touch, has developed into a fast paced indoor game that keeps the winter flab at bay.
Active Touch is a game for all abilities and enhances fitness, team work skills, and hand-eye coordination. It encourages speed, creativity, and enjoyment with very simple rules. You can watch a short video of this amazing game on our website or on YouTube.
The finals of the Active Touch leagues in Wandsworth were played in a great spirit, but still very competitively. The Tuesday league saw two underdogs, Touche’ & TouchMaBody play a very closely fought game with each team putting in everything they had.
TouchMaBody were new to Active Touch and came a long way during the season to make the final. In the end TouchMaBody did enough to come out as victors, winning the fast paced game 14 – 9.
The Thursday night league has been a fun and social competition throughout the seven weeks. The final was contested between Hot Custard and Tumeke. The teams had met twice during the round games of the league and it was all tied up at one a piece going into the grand final and this meant it was always going to go down to the wire.
Hot Custard had more stamina on the night as they had more substitutes to keep the pace up throughout the game. Hot Custard won the game 13 – 11.
The new indoor Active Touch leagues will begin in January 2016 at the Wandle Recreation Centre in Wandsworth and will be played on Tuesdays and Thursday nights.
There will also be a new Sunday Winter Touch League at Clapham Common from February 2016. You can enter your teams or enter as an individual on the In2Touch website.
