Try Tag Rugby turns six!

Try Tag Rugby turned six last Friday and, to celebrate, the Tag community came out in force to help party the night away on the annual Try Tag Rugby Thames Boat Party.

This year’s boat had capacity for 240 guests, with all tickets selling out a week leading up to the event.

The annual Try Tag Rugby Thames Boat Party is held each year, on the first weekend of September, to celebrate Try Tag Rugby’s birthday. More importantly, it is a chance to offer all members and guests a great social night out on the Thames River, taking in all the iconic London landmarks along the way while the DJ plays some tunes to get everyone into the party mood.

It’s also a chance for players to see each other away from the Tag pitch, in a more dressed-up environment.  Some players scrubbed up so nicely that a few double takes were seen.

The evening started out with a special guest, Dan Sarginson, who is a current England Rugby League International and Wigan Warriors player greeting Try Tag Rugby members at Westminster Pier.

Try Tag Rugby and the Wigan Warriors recently formed a partnership agreement, so Sarginson was there to help promote the Wigan Warriors fixture versus Catalan Dragons the following day at Millwall FC’s the Den.

Guests were then treated to four hours of cruising and partying along the Thames before the boat dropped everyone off at the Temple Walkabout. At the Walkabout, all Try Tag Rugby members were privy to some amazing drinks specials, which in turn left a few people with sore heads the following morning.

The team at Try Tag Rugby were all very appreciative of the capacity attendance that was on hand to help celebrate turning six. A great night was had by all and everyone is looking forward to doing it all again next year.
