Tips for healthy, strong nails

Just like our hair needs nourishment for health and vitality, so do our nails.

 
 

And whilst for some weak nails are due to imbalanced diets and a lack of the right vitamins and minerals, for others it is a matter of day-to-day care. A majority of people do not usually spend time grooming their nails, which can lead to weak and brittle nails. They are difficult to handle, mainly because they are soft, which is not how nails should be. So here are a few tips on how you can maintain healthy nails that are as strong as they are beautiful.

No Biting

This is a really bad habit to get used to, and so many people do it. Aside from being irksome for everyone around, it not only hinders nail development and growth, but can also make you sick. Our nails have an unimaginable amount of bacteria in them, so putting them in your mouth is the worst thing you could do. It might be hard to stop at first, but push through. Also avoid biting cuticles, since you could also injure yourself, and boy does that hurt!

Trim Them

Acrylic treatments are great for a special occasion, but definitely not for every day use. Aside from being incredibly impractical as you go about your daily life, unless you were perhaps a celebrity, they are also terrible for your nails. By all means indulge every now and then, but steer clear of making this a habit.
