STEWART MURRAY WILSON is back in prison after allegedly breaching the conditions of his parole by phoning someone he was not allowed too.

The Department of Corrections confirmed to the Dominion Post that they had successfully applied for an interim recall to prison for Wilson – known as the Beast of Blenheim.

A hearing would be made at the end of March to consider whether a final order should be made.

‘‘Corrections has been vigilantly monitoring this offender’s compliance with his parole conditions and immediately made the application after it received information that led it to believe he had breached his parole conditions,” a spokesperson said.

‘‘Corrections will also pursue legal action relating to this alleged breach through the courts.’’

Wilson was jailed for 21 years in 1996 after being convicted on 22 sex charges against women and children between 1971 and 1994.

He was freed on August 29 last year into a self-care unit on Whanganui Prison land, but has since been moved to a relocated home nearby.
