JESSE RYDER has been fined $750 for using insulting and offensive language to umpires in what was his first match back after a self-imposed exile.

The talented New Zealand batsman scored hundreds in both innings of the match for Wellington against Central Districts in his first domestic match since February.

He was cited for a level one breach of New Zealand Cricket’s code of conduct after reacting angrily after having an lbw decision rejected.

Ryder has not played for the Black Caps since a one-day international against South Africa where he was found to have breached team rules by drinking while injured.

Ryder’s international career has been marred by a series of alcohol related incidents, but he has looked a new man since his comeback, and scored 90 in 57 balls in a domestic Twenty20 match yesterday against Canterbury.
