oneIt has been said many times in our lives that sport brings people together. The 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa and more recently Super Sunday in the 2012 Olympic games – sporting events like these have brought people from many nations, cultures and generations together all because they have one thing in common: sport!

Where would many people be if there was no touch in Regent’s Park, a 5-a-side football league and even netball?

The answer is probably working seven days a week and not living our lives, enjoying what every person craves – the butterflies everyone gets just before a game, the highs and lows of a game that has a winner and loser and the friendships you make with your team-mates, the people you play with every Monday evening in Clapham Common.

Let’s not forget the occasional one, two or even three pints of lager you have with the team to discuss that amazing dummy you threw during the game.

O2 Touch in London brings people together from all corners of across the UK and the world. You get first graduates coming to London from the smaller country towns looking to take what London has to offer and make a career here. The many South Africans, Australians, New Zealanders that come over to the UK for a very short period of time want to ensure they enjoy every moment they have. And that is where the British summer and O2 Touch come into play.

With teams always looking for players and the six venues O2 Touch has to offer in London, there is bound to be a field close to where you work or live. By playing in the league you are given 16 weeks in the UK spring and summer to play touch in a social or competitive league. These 16 weeks have pushed many people out of their comfort zone, but in the end good friendships are made by playing a sport no matter what the shape of the ball might be.

If you’d like to get involved and broaden your circle a little more, why not have a look on www.in2touch.com and see if you fancy meeting like-minded people who are in the end just enjoying being out there and playing the amazing game touch is.
